We might forget about the details, mistakenly.

This is a wonderful view: an enormous bridge across the East river with a  series of New York's buildings in the background on a sunny summer day. Amazing.

But, what about the details? What about those little insignificant details at first view, that can turn out to be wonderful too?

Like this log. Why do we first concentrate at those powerful objects? They are great, but other things can be great too.

Portraits

Yesterday I decided to do something new. I left my dorm, and started walking on the streets of New York: I noticed how unique is every person and how many people walks daily on the streets. Inspiring myself by Pietro Mattioli, who based his work on portraits I started asking people if I could take a picture of them.  Clearly, some of them freaked out but surprisingly some of them accepted with a big smile on their faces.
It was very fun, here are some of the portraits....Click on the pictures to make them bigger.

Silent noon.

    There's no need to talk.

I took this picture at Washington Sq. Park Yesterday. I was surprised by how this two were sitting there all the time I was around, and they barely crossed a word: just an indifferent eye contact once in a while.

Her name is Lucy, she met him at a fast food restaurant. He ordered a burger without cheese, she ordered a burger with extra cheese. They first talked about their differences. Well, that's the story the picture told me...
I shot this casually,  in a large street in Paris a few months ago and everytime I see it, I imagine a different story for this couple.
